Melody Van Gompel & Nona Huysegems - PLAY/BOY!

PLAY/BOY! is an embodied exploration of first times, moments that are tender, terrifying and transformative.

The performance begins in the unknown, guided by instinct and sensation, returning to a state before identity was fixed, where anything was possible. Falling in love with a woman for the first time feels like entering flesh-colored space, both unfamiliar and deeply known. Through movement, sound and gaze, the body searches for a language beyond words. At the center is the Bunny figure, confronting the gaze and questioning who gets to look, be seen and hold power.

Inspired by Playboy culture, David Bowie and the anatomy of the eye, PLAY/BOY! explores the edges of gender, seduction, vulnerability and control. The stage becomes an intimate landscape where binaries dissolve. Every moment is a first time again, a visceral resistance to systems that try to define us. PLAY/BOY! invites us to imagine the body not as fixed, but as a fluid space of memory, pleasure and possibility.

Hendrik Lasure probeert nieuwe Nederlandstalige nummers uit die hij aan het schrijven is voor zijn volgende solo-album. De instrumentatie van deze nieuwe muziek ligt nog niet vast dus voorlopig brengt hij het repertoire alleen en solo met zichzelf.
