OPEN CALL: Streets meet, just like pages
‘Streets meet, just like pages’ is a collective fanzine project where the voices shape the output. Visual artists (drawers, poets, collagists, writers, photographers, painters, +...)!! Through the open call, we made a first step towards the creation of a collective publication which aims to research and collect the different perceptions of our beloved (or not?) Antwerp.
Every participation, in its subjectivity, will help to visually recreate the city. But not through a map or aiming to be a sort of guide, the publication will create a narrative of it through feelings and experience, through the eyes of the people who live it or used to live it.
That said, no matter what kind of relationship you have with the city—whether it’s love, hate, doubt, or a sense of precarity—your contribution allows you to leave a message to Antwerp that will live in this time-capsule-like publication.
Practical:
• Send your picture in a A4 format
• Files accepted: .png, or .jpeg
• Good printing resolution
• Let us know how you want to be mentioned (Full name? Artist name? Do you want to be mentioned?)
• Do you have a Instagram account we can tag when the publication is finalised?
• Write in the email-subject: ‘OPEN CALL COLLECTIVE FANZINE’
• send the email to: susanna@hetbos.be
PLEASE NOTE: Depending on the collaborative design phase of the publication, your picture might be printed in b&w or
in colours.
Deadline: 18th of March
The open call represents the first phase of the fanzine creation.
The in-real-life activities will happen on the 21 and 22 of March. Information about them can be found in the Het Bos agenda. Everyone is free to join them regardless of participating to this first open call or not.
