Chef Nour, een trotse Libanees-Palestijnse, brengt dierbare familierecepten tot leven met passie en toewijding. Geworteld in de rijke tradities van het Midden-Oosten, wil ze haar smaken en verhalen delen met haar nieuwe thuisland: België. Haar gerechten vertellen verhalen van erfgoed, liefde en creativiteit. Van romige hummus tot geurige rijst met groenten en noten, smeuïge Muhammara, vers Libanees brood, hartverwarmende linzensoep en frisse fattoush – elke hap nodigt je uit in ons huis, onze cultuur en ons hart. Bestel je brunch buffet ter plaatse voor 15 euro (12 euro voor kinderen)

Patricia Neves da Costa

(11h, live podcast) ‘Liefste Kleine Ik’ is een online en offline platform opgericht door Patricia Neves da Costa, ontstaan vanuit de behoefte om haar geschreven artikels een dieper en breder verlengstuk te geven. Het platform plaatst heling centraal door intergenerationele trauma’s bespreekbaar te maken en het doorbreken van taboes binnen families en gemeenschappen actief op te zoeken.

De inspiratie voor dit werk ligt in Patricia’s eigen jeugd, waarin dit soort gesprekken ontbraken en pijn en trauma vaak als ‘normaal’ werden beschouwd binnen haar culturele context. Ze zag hoe deze ervaringen uit de kindertijd vaak stilletjes worden meegenomen in het volwassen leven – zonder dat mensen beseffen hoe diep ze hun gedrag, relaties en zelfbeeld beïnvloeden. Haar grootste inspiratiebron is dan ook haar eigen kleine ik.

Tijdens Vruchtbare grond gaat Patricia in gesprek met drie generaties oudste dochters over de gelaagde dynamieken die spelen in hun rol: van adultificatie tot schuldgevoelens naar hun moeder toe. Deze live podcast draagt de titel ‘Wat we onze moeders nooit zeiden’.

Family Workshops with Liesbeth Plettinckx

Liesbeth maakt in situ werk met materialen die ze ter plekke vindt en transformeert door klassieke textieltechnieken. Het stadsleven speels benaderen is een rode draad doorheen haar werk. Tijdens deze open workshop maken we postkaart tapijten. We borduren met een dikke naald en afgedankt bouwmateriaal. Alle leeftijden welkom, geen voorkennis nodig

Anna Sarkisova

(14h, performance) My name is Anna Sarkisova. I am a graphic designer and visual artist working with translation and collaging, typesetting, and performance. My artistic work is often bilingual — I mingle between Russian and English, defining my space of belonging and negotiating meaning where languages overlap. I grew up in Moscow, at a time when theatre and dramaturgy were thriving art forms there, which deeply influenced my artistic interests. In the long term, I am exploring how graphic design and stage arts could coexist fruitfully.

In the context of Vruchtbare Grond, I present 0,5 citizen — a publication accompanied by a reading. 0,5 citizen compiles five poems written between winter 2024 and spring 2025. Working on these texts became a way to live through draining, unjust times: documenting the opinions of those affected — or distorted — by Russian propaganda, attempting to define love in the post-Soviet context, and holding together my native home in Moscow with my current one in Antwerp.

Throwing Hands Productions

Throwing Hand Productions (for lack of an even more site-specific name) is a collective effort by Milla Mann, Emilia Schupp, and Rafaela Figurski Vieira. Holding a camera, being in front of it, paying for things, and writing—all at the same time and with only two hands—turned out to be one of life’s biggest challenges after graduating. The decision to add more hands (and more anecdotes) to a project came naturally to the three of us when we began talking about making moving images together.

Having all studied in the Moving Image program at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and lived in Antwerp as international students, we found a shared frame of reference and subject matter. This became the basis for our first experiment during the Het Bos residency. Stirring all of these elements together over FaceTime, we decided to create a moving image piece dedicated to Antwerp. Our character, REA, has a unique presence in the city. As she guides us through her day, her intentions slowly unfold. REA and Antwerp go hand in hand—she reveals the city to us, unlocking doors, stepping through thresholds, and briefly inhabiting spaces that are usually off-limits. This everyday ritual becomes her personal way of connecting with the city—forming an archive of its architecture on Google Maps, its atmosphere, and its hidden rooms.
