After having Dub master Adrian Sherwood, Blue and ZOZ at our previous label night, we invited our friends from the Amsterdam based label South of North for a musical get together. This time we are celebrating the launch of our new sublabel ‘Curio Cabinet’. A series of 7-inch records in-between the Souvenirs releases.

The first curiosity is an Electro infused 130 bpm Dubber by Sly Boogie with a solid stepper version from Weird Dust on the other side. The perfect occasion to invite them to do a live show!

South of North is providing some tasty live performances as well! With Kim David Bots and Devon Rexi on the menu, it surely is going to be an evening for pleasing ears & legs.

In between the live shows we have Hill Men with South of Norths Fry Ry & Marathon Man, closing the night!

SLY BOOGIE

Sly Boogie is an electronic live act centered around the persona of Emiel 'Mills' Redant, presented with assortments of vintage machinery he gathered over the years. For this occasion, he draws inspiration from the dub of the 1970s, old Rephlex and Warp records, acid house, and - where most people know him from - Detroit illectro & technobass. It's the kind of sound that our city, within a small underground scene nonetheless, had been ahead of for some time. Think of places like the predecessors of Het Bos and the airwaves of Radio Centraal. So, expect deep subs, fuzzy tape delays, classic drum machines, and cheerful grooves.

DEVON REXI

Amsterdam quintet that doesn't write songs, but puts their listeners in a highly comfortable groove. On their latest record Biya Ba Man, their playful, dubby electronica manifests itself as a new kind of post-punky psych-funk with chirpy vocals and distorted grooves on a wave of bass and percussion. WEIRD DUST

Brussels-based producer Michael Crabbé drapes multi-layered analogue and digital synthfabrics over tribal percussion and takes you to an alien sci-fi rainforest.

KIM DAVID BOTS

Visual artist Kim David Bots distilled a record from tramtransfers in Amsterdam's Kinkerstraat, living in a biodynamic community in Berlin's Lichtenberg and inhabiting an Amsterdam flat that also served as a growhouse for certain plants. Oostwestkruisbest was released on South of North. Bandcamp
