✫ S280F (US, live)

S280F is a US based artist working in experimental electronics & noise. We couldn’t be more happy to have her over for a live-show. With releases on a lot of renowned labels like TAR and formforum, we’ve been following her productions for a while. Her music is abrasive and epic, but never loses a focus on intimacy and beauty. Combining soft-spoken piano melodies with synthlines of grandeur and detailed granular sampling, S280F’s 2021 album titled ‘28’ is what first got us into her music.

Épong is one of MONTAGE’s mainstays. With tracks on Magdalena’s Apathy or Comic Sans compilations and multiple releases on MONTAGE, épong has been working on his trade for a while now. His music can shift from post-rock via hardcore to breakcore in the matter of minutes and his live shows are renowned for the never-ending evolutions of blastbeats and arrays of breaks. Lately, épong has been focusing a lot on sound-design and soundtracks for films, in which he has taken on a keen interest for the resampling of his own instruments. This has also influenced his latest productions, bringing everything from self-recorded resampled breaks to rattling chains into his work.

Burenhinder and MONTAGE have been in a long distance relationship between Antwerp, London and Brussels for a while now. After collaborating on an event in Reset earlier this year, this evening of lovely concerts will cement our platonic relationship with two b2bs between our resident djs. From bass to boink and from breaks to hardcore, prepare a little hangover in class or at work on friday morning.

MONTAGE is a Brussels based collective and label focusing on experimental electronic music. MONTAGE derives its name from a love for what they call edited music: music that manages to surpass genre-boundaries for narrative structure and experimten. MONTAGE has featured an array of different releases by artists as épong, Justin, TRESS, Dybbuk and many more. They strongly believe in representation in music. Lately, they have also been doing efforts for some more discourse-oriented work with a telegram group chat and some social media posts. A lot of this comes from the deliberate conflation of alternative culture with alternative ideas.
