Earthy delights dinner & release "Spoon #6: Treasury of Chestnuts"
If not the first brown leave falling through the windy air before you, isn't the first chestnut gathered from the forest floor the true instigator that summer is coming to an end and we are all to prepare for our silent, candle lit retreat for the next 6 months or so.
SPOON is a DIY zine focusing on food and it's significance in society and culture, run by Karen Spiessens and Juliane Noll.
Spoon cooks to celebrate the birth of it's brand new child: SPOON #6: "The treasury of chestnuts". It is a trip along the implicit knowledge of cultural exchange through food: recipes are mostly cooked, not always written down. Yet they tell us more about the world than many other things: diet, economy, trade routes, social status and land-use, even superstition or humor.
This horn of plenty will be reflected in an earthy meal in true autumn spirit. Think nuts, mushrooms, roots, ferments that warm your senses and appease even the darkest of forest spirits. Veggie, glutenfree and vegan (options). Zines will be available to purchase, aswel as other goodies! All proceeds go toward the print costs of our latest issue.
