VISITE (film in Het Bos): 'Ahmed' + 'Los Muertos'
"VISITE is een 11 dagen durend filmprogramma samengesteld door makers Anne Reijniers en Eva van Tongeren i.s.m De Imagerie en Het Bos."
AHMED (2016, 14’) – Leander Coorevits
'Ahmed' is the portrait of a young man living in Antwerp after having fled to various places in Asia and Europe. In awe of Ahmed’s story, and fueled by his disbelief concerning the stance on immigration of the Belgian, Flemish and Antwerp governments, Leander Coorevits wants to let Ahmed tell his story in this film. The short documentary provides an insight into the young man’s state of being.
LOS MUERTOS (2004, 78’) - Lisandro Alonso
Leander Coorevits: "Lisandro Alonso taught me that it’s possible to tell a story in a completely different way. He works with images in a very serene way. The film is like a swamp you have to struggle through, until you start recognizing its beauty. Up till now Alonso is the only one who has been able to reach that effect for me; I get sucked into his point of view. The slowness of the film works in an estranging way, and it’s exactly that which I believe is interesting."
