The Network Day brings together artists, developers, and individuals passionate about the intersection of art and video games. We want you to be able to exchange impactful experiences, which is why we’ve rethought the networkday format and gave conversation with the other participants the center stage. We provide a welcoming and inclusive space with inspiring talks, impactful networking methodologies and good food. Come join the conversation, broaden your perspectives, and be part of the movement to normalize video games as an artistic and cultural medium.

Get your tickets During registration, we ask you what you expect from the networkday, what your intrerests are and what sort of people you would like to meet. Based on your answers, we will prepare the network activities so you can get the most out of the event.

Talk: Gwendolyn Kampen
Playing with Purpose: Creating Engaging Gameplay with a Meaningful Message
Gwendolyn Kampen is a Dutch game-designer and developer. She has been making games for over 15 years in different capacities ranging from being part of a 200+ person AAA development team to creating games all by herself. Her creations include artistic, entertainment and educational games. At present, Gwen is a senior developer at Flavour where she works on the educational game HackShield: Future Cyber Heroes.

Talk: Aley Baracat
Designing Games with Heart: Exploring Personal Narratives in Game Design
Aley is a multi-award winning creative technologist/director with a passion for creating narrative immersive AR/VR experiences. He has a double major in Computer Engineering and Graphic Design as well as an MA in Independent Game and Playable Experience Design. His work has been exhibited in several countries, and he has worked with industry experts such as Emmy Award winning No Ghost and immersive theatre giants Punchdrunk.

World Café
During the World Café, you will be able to engage in guided deeper conversations with other participants in small focus groups on topics related to art games. 15+ different topics to pick from - three rounds of 20 minutes.
