THE CULT OF DOM KELLER
"Since 2007 these sonic alchemists have been creating whacked out soundscapes accompanying drowsy songs that appear to have been born from outer space. After flying lightyears of tours they haven't mellowed out yet and evolved to fuzz-laden psych-pop style heavily influenced by the school of bands like Spacemen 3 and the Jesus & Mary Chain. While the rhythm section and vocals lock into a monotonous churning, grinding juggernaut chug reminiscent of hypno-psych contemporaries Dead Skeletons and The Horrors, the raw blown-out guitar licks slicing over the top strongly remind of The Heads spliff riffing."
GRAND BLUE HERON
"Built on the ashes of former post-hardcore outfit Hitch and featuring members from deceased bands A Clean Kitchen Is A Happy Kitchen and Moonlake, Grand Blue Heron are a musical blender slicing and and dicing all kinds of guitar music that reared its head over the past 50 years. Debut album ‘Hatch’, released on Jezus Factory last year, reeled a long list of attributed influences (going from Wipers, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Sonics, Jezus Lizard, Motörhead, … to The Deviants, Led Zeppelin, The Pixies, Motorpsycho, Velvet Underground … ), which is why you can just as easily see Grand Blue opening shows for Bo Ningen as for White Denim, Scraper or The Cult Of Dom Keller. Here’s a band that does not do the newest thing in music, but re-invents guitar music in their own versatile and energetic way. Well worth coming on time for."
